Cotswold Radio Control Society was formed in 1962 and we are based near Stroud, Gloucestershire in the beautiful Cotswolds. We are affiliated to the BMFA, club No 0064. As with any model aircraft club, safety is of utmost importance to us. If you wish to fly a model aircraft, please see below. Please be aware that although we fly fixed wing and have a superb tarmac runway we do not allow gas turbine or i/c ducted fan powered aircraft, the former due to safety considerations as we share the airfield with full size aircraft, and the latter because of noise restrictions. The Hawker Hunter featured on our home page is EDF (electric ducted fan).

The Society consists of a group of people of all ages who love to build and fly radio controlled model aircraft. Learning to fly these models can take weeks or years depending on the individual and some say it's harder to fly models than it is the real thing. However we do it because of the  satisfaction we get from seeing something we have created on the workbench (often from an almost ready to fly kit, but sometimes built from scratch), actually fly just like the real thing.

If you would like to explore this fascinating and rewarding hobby further and maybe learn to fly, it is essential to join a club in order to get help. If you are interested, please contact us using the link at the top of this page, we would love to hear from you and welcome new members of all ages.
