2022 Plant Sale and Summer Show

The recent gales didn’t encourage many of us to venture into the outdoors unless we had to, but snowdrops, aconites, and even crocuses have begun to appear. As the days start to lengthen, it won’t be long until the growing season is upon us.

As the Covid situation appears to continue to ease, we’re planning our events for this year. Obviously they may still be subject to change depending on circumstances at the time, and we will of course follow Scottish Government regulations and advice, but we hope we’ll be able to hold our events in something like the normal way this year.

Following the success of last year’s Plant Sale, we intend to hold a similar event this year, outdoors on the grass beside the Gordon Memorial Hall in Rosemarkie on Saturday 28th May. We’ll let you know the details nearer the time, but you can be sure that as usual we’ll have a wide and interesting selection of plants. This is an important fund-raising event for the Society, and as well as coming along to buy something new for your garden, can you think about whether you can donate any plants for us to sell? If you’re splitting herbaceous plants and can pot up any that are left over, or you can raise some extra seedlings, or you’ve got other surplus plants of any kind, they’ll be very welcome.

After our online-only Show in 2020, and our limited 2021 Show at the Black Isle Showground, we intend to return to our usual venue, the Gordon Memorial Hall in Rosemarkie, for our Summer Show this year. It’ll be on Saturday 13th August, with all our usual sections, including Food and Preserves that we had to miss out last year. There will be a few changes to the Show Schedule, including some new classes, and we hope to post the Schedule here by the middle of February.
