September 2013

The month began with a Picnic in Bedfordshire, where friends open their home and garden at the beginning and end of each summer, meeting up with friends from far and wide.
This was followed by a number of Interfaith related activities in Surrey as well as hitting the Heritage Weekend trail in Godalming visiting places not usually open to the public, like the Freemasons' Lodge, as well as more familiar buildings...
We treated ourselves to an evening at 'Carnaby Street the Musical', and Bibhas attended several Guildford Society meetings/consultations as well as his annual Bengal Engineering College reunion in London. We both had late summer colds but Bibhas worked through his whilst Carolyn lost her voice for several days.
September 8th was the 10th Anniversary of Dad's passing, and the 3rd of Mum's funeral but we didn't arrange any big event, choosing instead to attend a Baha'i Unity Feast and to hear reports of the big Youth Conference in Warwick...
After our monthly 'Pepperpot' meeting we went to France, meeting up with some of the Brest Bahá'ís at the 'Nuit des Chercheurs' at the Oceanopolis Science Park. The next day we went to a Quimperlé fish restaurant with other Baha'í friends, and a few days later met up with my 60s friends at Lac de Guerlain. A 'spent' spark plug forced us to stay in France for a second week, luckily with beautiful weather and not too much of the famous Britanny rain, so we were able to spend a lot of time on the garden and give the house a good airing...
