August 2013

by Carolyn - 06:54 on 18 September 2013

Don't be confused by the above greeting - this juicy picture was sent as a Rosh Hashana greeting on Facebook.

August was a fairly quiet month in the U.K., spent watching for news of the 114 Youth Conferences around the world.  The burden of establishing a new 'World Order' from the grass roots now rests with the current generation and it has been thrillling to see video clips from some of these Conferences and to hear the reports and enthusiasm that has come out of them!

We went to the Baha'í Summer School in Wales,at Port Talbot, spending precious time with friends of many years, and meeting some of their new grand-children.   There has been a whole crop of new-borns in recent months and it's lovely to see this new generation emerging...

On the last day of the month we went to the 'Mela' at Shah Jehan Mosque in Woking, a very lively affair with lots of bouncy castles, food stalls and other attractions, as well as various exhibitions. We also went to several 'Staycation' events in Godalming, including a visit to Ladywell Convent, some summer Concerts in the park, and a few Pub lunches...
