March 2012

After 4 fabulous weeks in India, when time seemed to stand still with a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds and experiences, we took a few days easing ourselves back into life in England, meeting up with a lot of friends at Ian Semple's Memorial at Ealing Town Hall

and then gradually picking up our local activities. These included a very interesting meeting on the 'Arab Spring' arranged by one of our Interfaith groups and a street collection for Water Aid which we do in memory of our friend Rolly each year, with meals out for Robindra's birthday and Mothering Sunday leading up to the Bahá'í New Year... after which Bibhas went off to Britanny to check out the little house whilst Carolyn sorted out the Godalming house and garden. We were each lucky with the glorious weather and he was able to finish off all the outside jobs without the rain which usually blights our Britanny breaks.
We were greatly saddened to lose two friends, both younger than us, soon after our return. We attended two 'life celebrations' within a week - Soha Samimi Seyeidi's at the Bahá'í Cemetary at Arnos Grove and Subhash Chandra Luthra's Humanist send-off at Woking Crematorium. Each had children the same age as ours, and so much to live for...
Maisie, an elderly Caribean resident at Surrey Heights, where Mum spent the last 3 years of her life, also passed away, and Carolyn attended her Cremation
