Bibhas remained in Cyprus for the first half of December, coming back in time for Carolyn's birthday. He spent much of this time visiting the more isolated Bahá'ís in the North, where there are quite a few health-related problems, not insuring the car for trips to the South this time...
An unexpected bonus was the arrival of Mr. Ali Nakhjavani, a member of the Universal House of Justice for 40 years from its inception in 1963, who has long-established links with Cyprus. This was his first trip since the loss of his wife Violette and the whole Island community gathered to meet with him. During this time Mr. Ian Semple who had served alongside Ali Bey for 40 years passed away, and he spoke movingly and eloquently about these two heros at the Bahá'í Centre in Nicosia.
Meanwhile Carolyn engaged in more local and seasonal acitivities, also enjoying the unseasonably good weather, whilst making preliminary plans for our trip to India at the end of January, when Bibhas will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of his first degree, from Bengal Engineering College...
