November started with Bibhas collecting an Honorary Degree from Surrey University at Guildford Cathedral along with old friend Robert Adam (pictured) and 400 former Battersea College students, as University of Surrey celebrates 120 years of its foundation, followed by a Marquee Reception with harp player, speeches from the Duke of Kent & others about the achievements and contributions of Battersea students, and a constant supply of 'amuse bouches' and champagne - though we stuck to the elderflower of course... www.surrey.ac.uk
Then we travelled to France on an LD Lines special, meeting up with Carolyn's 60s friends Joy & Geoffrey for a rather fancy lunch 'au Potagere'in the grounds of Chateau Lanniron before enlisting their help to load up the contents of the mobile home which was proving a drain on our limited resources with high ground rent, now that we have our pied-a-terre in the Cotes d-Armor. www.lanniron.com
After closing the little house for winter we booked into a travel lodge near Vannes and spent a wonderful weekend with the Britanny Bahá'ís, who had hired an old mill house at St. Nolffe for a weekend of study and entertainment, incorporating the anniversary of Baha'u'lláh's Birthday http://www.bahaullah.org , with wonderful musical interludes from the Breton family group An Demm
Then back to England for the launch of Interfaith Week. Only in it's 3rd year this has really taken off and a lot of local groups had set up meetings. Bibhas read a prayer of Rabindra Tagore at the local Unitarian Chapel www.dartington.org/tagore150 followed by our own annual multifaith event at St. Nicolas in Guildford, hosted by Guildford & Godalming InterFaith Forum http://www.interfaithweek.org/
before flying back to Cyprus where he has a number of projects on the go - home and Bahá'ís, and we pursued similar activities in different countries, celebrating two more Holy Days and catching up with neglected friends and chores http://planetbahai.com/cgi-bin/articles.pl?article=9
as well as planning our trip to India in the New Year...
