August 2011

August was quite a varied month. Bibhas started it in France, building a little summer house which I put the finishing touches to, and we had our first guests, Pierre & Parvine Martin, eating tartes aux pommes rather cosily when the wind blew up after a meal and a few prayers for Mum's imminent first Anniversary. We came back from France to a glorious red and purple sunset over the Isle of Wight, where she spent so many happy years...
We did a few little things for the first anniversary but as Mum's funeral was on Dad's anniversary, on 8th September, that's the date we'll be using in the future. We were touched to find a card through the door from our lovely Parish Priest, a Goth, who helped with her Service.
We attended the Bahá'í Summer School at Wellington for the last couple of days and caught up with friends from far and near. Then Bibhas had a bit of a blitz on the garden in Farncombe, mending fences and chopping trees with a vegeance before planning his next trip...
Now it's full steam ahead with a very busy September including commemorating the Centenary of 'Abdu'l-Bahá's visit to the U.K., and planning for October and November - One World Week & Interfaith Week
