1929 - 1936 - School days and Travels witth the family.

In January 1929, Betty, then aged nearly 12, accompanied her parents on a cruise down the coast of West Africa, and later in the year she attended the Scout Jamboree at Arrowe Park, Birkenhead.  She kept a Journal of these events, and of some others that year.

In 1930 Betty started to keep a diary - perhaps she was given one for Christmas, 1929 - and this became a habit that lasted all her life.

THIS page covers the seven and a half years from when she first started to record her life until her marriage.  Her diaries of this period were small pocket diaries, so there is not a great deal of detail;  however, she also kept Journals of significant events.
