Cut Fares Not Staff

Yet another huge hike in rail fares has been announced as cuts to services and staffing are to take place across our entire rail network. Berwick Labour Party, Berwick RMT, Berwick Trades Union Council and Berwick Young Greens gathered at Berwick Station today with leaflets and a Labour Party petition protesting the hike in rail fares. Passengers greeted the protest and signed the petition agreeing with the Labour Party’s plan to bring the railway network into public ownership. Rail fares have rocketed, two times faster than wages.
