Berwick Trades Union Council, Berwickshire Granarchists and local activists formed a demonstration against rail fare increases, fewer ticket offices and driver-only operated trains at Berwick Station today. Passengers took “Action For Rail” postcards to post to their MPs, stating: “The railways make a valuable contribution to communities, the economy and environment. Please support affordable fares and a publicly owned railway that people before profit.” The demonstration was part of a national day of action organised by the TUC and rail unions.
