The Breaking Wave…..
Ian Marchant’s pieces telling of the progress/process of writing his most recent book have appeared regularly in m’blog. Here’s the most recent one….

'The Breaking Wave' is described as being….
“….a comedy about death and music.”
When our copy arrived, I was walking 'The North Road' with Rob Cowen …..

…so Mike read Ian’s book before I did, and observed…..
"As with all Ian's books, it's very enjoyable - well written, readable and relatable.”
And now…and now……I’m ready to read it!!!!
I’ll start with the cover, designed by Julian Dicken. On the front, we see a couple walking along a sea-side promenade in the rain, with a wave, lowering, about to break.
Then I noticed that, when I open the cover up, there are three couples – who are all the same couple…..

Intrigued….I opened the book and began to read…..

In Praise Of Lidl’s Middle Aisle…..
When Mike hurt his ankle Peter-The-Physio gave him a TheraBand to exercise with.
That’s a while ago, it’s had a lot of use and it snapped. He's not entitled to another free one as his ankle has healed well, but the exercises are still a good idea.
When shopping in Lidl, in the middle aisle, he found a box of ‘Crivit Resistance Bands’. The pack of 4 should do him for a while. All hail Lidl – all you need under one roof – veg, bread, tinned goods, pasta etc etc and …Resistance Bands….

(Other bands are available - but we likes Lidl)

This talk will helped us celebrate Archaeology Scotland's involvement via Scottish Archaeology Month, in European Archaeology Days (EAD) 2025 and to link in with European Heritage Days (EHD) 2025 theme of Architecture and Heritage: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future.
