It simply is a wonder and a delight. If you haven't read it - do so! Books such as this one don't turn up very often.
Here’s what I said about it in m’blog….
“Joanne Bourne’s book, which isn’t only about Flint – it’s about Time - about ‘ghost’ landscapes in which Flint was and still is scattered.
Deep Time, past Time offering gifts to the present.
And it’s about the joy of living, walking, being, feeling, finding – stones, fossils, bottles, old cars, skulls, bits of wood, plants – evidence of life - through Time.
And…people, there are people in Joanne’s book - through time and in places.
Best read it for yourself. Like I said – it’s a gem of a book.”

From the RSPB……
“Letting the light in
Our Abernethy nature reserve is famous for its amazing Caledonian Pine Forest. But centuries of human activity mean the forest is missing some key species. Find out how Downy Willow and Aspen are being brought back by a team of staff and volunteers.

Speak up for nature
The Natural Environment Bill is a once-in-a-generation chance to save Scotland's nature. It could set targets to restore habitats, protect wildlife, and see biodiversity thrive. Join us in calling for a Bill that helps bring Scotland's land and seas back to life.
Seabirds let down
The Scottish Government's seabird conservation action plan is a welcome and overdue commitment to protect our most threatened wildlife. Sadly it has been overshadowed by the recent decision to consent Berwick Bank wind farm.
Save Coul Links
Coul Links is home to rare and remarkable wildlife. But it is now threatened for the second time by plans for an 18-hole golf course. Help save this precious place.
Merlyn Driver on tour
Scottish musician Merlyn Driver is bringing his moving blend of music and nature to Abernethy this Autumn. He'll be joined by Fiona Driver on the fiddle at this stop off in the highlands.
