‘Tis the Season……
We went to Wellpark Garden Centre to get a flower-pot.
Back-story….some of our neighbour’s ducks like to visit our garden, and we like to see them there. However - on the terrace we had a water-dish which was potentially for hedgehogs, but was mostly used by small birds. The ducks repeatedly emptied it, poo-ed all around it, and the little birds stopped using it.
There's a pond for the ducks to drink from and swim in, so we removed the water-dish.
We had the idea of getting a big flower-pot, fitting the water-dish into the top of it, the ducks wouldn't be able to reach it or knock it over, and the little birds would get their water-dish back. We were successful in finding the right pot, which is now set up, ready for the birds to use…
When we went into Wellpark to pay for the pot, we found that the place is all geared up for Halloween!
I’m usually grouchy about seasonal events being promoted too early, but I saw how delighted a little lad was when he saw the ‘BIG SHINY SPIDER’….
….and thought…. what the hell.
There’s also a ceramic pumpkin in among the flower-pots – better than plastic!
