Shaping Up For The Year Ahead….
This was on a friend’s FB page….
I thought – no – I’m NOT going to approach 2025 hiding round a corner, opening the door with the end of a long stick.
I’m going to stride up to it, defiantly, throw the door open and shout – ‘Come an’ ‘ave a go if ya’ think yer’ ‘ard enough.’
Or...open the door...stand on the threshold...take a deep breathe....and......
Fear is a mind-killer.

"Happy New Year
I have always loved this Basho Haiku.
Year's end,
all corners
of this floating world, swept.
As Basho suggests, now is the time to sweep out the old and let in the new. To celebrate this, we have our second, and surprisingly appropriate, exhibition of Edo Japan inspired collaged paintings from Colin Brown.
We also have a series of new paintings - 'Elementals' - from Nicola Moss. In these 12" x 10" works, Moss channels the feelings and vision she feels when sitting in nature. The result are these beautiful and spiritual tempura panels.
We also have more work from Maggie New, Beth Robertson Fiddes, Allison Weightman and other artists.
Please contact the gallery for more information about these and other exhibitions.
Nicola Moss | Elementals
3 January - 1 February 2025
We are excited to share with you an exhibition of Nicola Moss's 'elementals' in egg tempura and shellac. This is a collection of 12" x 10" paintings which explore the visions that come from sitting quietly in the land. She has channelled these into works with a unique but understandable language of geometries, symbols and hope.
COLIN BROWN | Edo 2
3 January - 1 Febraury 2025
This is Colin Brown's second collection of works inspired by woodblock prints from Edo Japan. He has reimagined his nineteenth-century collaged source material and given it a vitality and an extra relevance to our twenty-first century lives. It is a pleasure to share with you these eight new works.
Maggie New
just arrived
Nature is the greatest artist. Her palettes, shapes and forms, movements and transitions, from one moment to the next, are unsurpassed. And she has created the playground and source for Maggie New's work. We are excited to share with you seven new paintings.
Allison Weightman
just arrived
These new works by Allison Weightman - which includes vases, shotgun bowls and 'landscapes' - shows Weightman to be a ceramic artist of note. She is in full flow, and these new pieces are as powerful as they are beautiful.
