They’ll Say They Didn’t Know
I can imagine how it feels
to cross a border for a better future and not do the paperwork
to get pregnant and not want to have a baby
to live in a body not carrying the right gender
I can imagine how it feels
to be vilified — to be hunted
to be afraid of every stranger
and some friends
But I'm a straight white man in America
I can't truly understand it in my gut
but I can sympathize
So why then can't I imagine
what caused so many of my fellows
to vote the way they did?

ALLAN MACDONALD | Twelve New Paintings from Iceland
6th November - 21st November
MacDonald's latest twelve paintings are inspired by an expedition to Iceland in 2022, and they capture some of the unexpected wonders of a country famous for sagas, ice, volcanoes and epic waterfalls. These paintings let us see the land and the all-powerful forces that form it in new ways, and It has allowed MacDonald to find new ways to work with oil paints, a medium which he has made his own.
iLLONA MORRICE | self portrait and other heads
arrival | 22 October
illona Morrice takes inspiration from clay and the world around her. In these four works it comes from faces (including her own,) the sea, standing stones and a bowl of yellow-glazed lemons.
Alan Macdonald | Moonstruck
arrival | 11 November
Say ‘hello’ to six new portraits from Alan Macdonald, an artist whose skill and inquisitive mind allows humanity to rise from his Rembrandtian background – from an easily-led man, a doyenne, big mouth and more. If all the world's a stage, Macdonald is its painter.
