From ‘Greenpeace’…… A ’Shoddy Annexe’…..BBC Pics of Scotland…….

From ‘Greenpeace’……

“What I'm about to share isn't just alarming — it's terrifying.

Microplastics aren't just in our oceans anymore. They're in our food. Our water. Our air. And now — it's almost unthinkable — they're in our blood, breastmilk, and even the placentas of unborn babies. [1]

This isn't science fiction. This is our reality. It's happening right now, to you, to me, to our children. And the scariest part, we still have no idea of the long-term health implications. [2]

But listen closely: there's still hope. In just six weeks, world leaders will come together to negotiate the UN Global Plastics Treaty, a groundbreaking international agreement that could end plastic pollution for good.

A strong treaty could mandate global reductions in plastic manufacturing, ban harmful single-use plastics, and force corporations to take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of their products.

By tackling pollution at its source, we can keep microplastics out of our bodies and our environment – but only if we act now. If enough people reading this email tell Keir Starmer to protect us from microplastics, his government will be forced to address the issue publicly at the Treaty negotiations. They’ll have no choice but to put people ahead of the interests of fossil fuel lobbyists.

You might think, "What difference can I make?" Let me tell you — EVERYTHING. Your voice, joined with millions of others, already helped to force Labour to end the de facto ban on new onshore wind farms. Together, we've faced down governments before. We can do it again. [3]

This isn't just about saving fish or cleaning up beaches. It's about saving ourselves. Our children. Our grandchildren. It's about ensuring there's a liveable planet left for them to inherit.

We’re at a tipping point for our planet’s health. Will you stand with us and fight for our planet’s future?

Yes, I stand with Greenpeace

Every single day, I watch with growing concern as the data gets worse. But I also see glimmers of hope: communities switching to reusable packaging, innovative scientists researching biodegradable alternatives, everyday heroes cleaning up their local environments.

But it's not enough. We need more. We need YOU.

This is the moment where you decide what side of history you're on.

We're building an army of informed, passionate citizens to demand a Global Plastics Treaty with teeth. Your signature isn't just ink on a petition — it's a battle cry for the future of our species.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to end the age of plastic. To give our children a future that isn't choked with microplastics. The choice is clear. The time is NOW. Are you with us?

In hope and determination,

Laura
