Thanksgiving…...Life stirring…. News From The Ness…..

by Bernie Bell - 09:13 on 08 April 2024

Thanksgiving

And the season’s off

The grey nomads know it

Their yelping skeins gain purpose

And set their compass to North

The larks have been shouting

About it for weeks

The fields sky-plotted by song

Proclaimed to the wide world

Mrs Blackbird knows it

Preoccupied, her gaze turned inward

Ready to repeat the rite of renewal

As the world turns again

Let us give thanks, then

For all that sustains us

The Brotherhood and the Sisterhood of it

May ours be an Honourable Harvest

As the hemisphere’s green flame

Licks northward, a remembered kindness

We know the hurtling into the Light

That is bigger than all, forgives all, is all

Thanks be.

Life stirring….

Autumn before last we gathered some Sycamore Keys from beneath the tree at Cottascarth……

I potted them up, and they ‘took’.  They came through last Winter, and are now putting out fresh, new leaves…

This Autumn, we’ll plant them out.

Connecting.
