Still Looking…. C.A.A.T……

Still Looking…

On Thursday we went to see a most excellent exhibition in Tankerness House Museum, based around the war remains of Orkney.

On Thursday night Mike had a dream in which he was in a room full of people with weapons – guns and phasers  - which they were firing at each other  - but - when they tried to fire them, the weapons turned into feathers.

They were furious about this  - but however furious they were, the weapons kept on turning into feathers.

This brought to mind ….

“And I dreamed I saw the bombers
Riding shotgun in the sky
And they were turning into butterflies
Above our nation”

Woodstock - Joni Mitchell.

The power of the human psyche.

C.A.A.T……

I received this from the Campaign Against Arms Trade...

"Our government is under immense pressure finally to impose an arms embargo on Israel. In the last week evidence has emerged revealing the Foreign Office is suppressing legal advice that Israel is breaching international law; over 600 legal professionals, including senior justices, signed a letter demanding an arms embargo; MPs, including senior politicians from all parties, are calling for arms sales to stop. Meanwhile, CAAT’s research revealed that the aid workers Israel killed in Gaza were murdered by a drone made by Elbit Systems with an engine based on UK technology.

CAAT’s research has been at the forefront of this call to action from the very beginning. In the last week, we have been quoted or cited repeatedly in the mainstream media, including The Guardian, FT, The Independent, The Standard, The Week, Middle Eastern Eye, on the BBC and NPR – and in many more places. You can follow the links below to read about this.

Alongside our research and media work, we have been keeping up the pressure on MPs, and working with grassroots campaigners to take action against arms companies.

This pressure is working. But with Israel deliberately forcing over 1 million Palestinian people into famine, the situation is beyond urgent. We need an arms embargo now. And we need your help to enable us to keep up this pressure.

Please support us now in our work to keep up this pressure!

You can make a donation online, or send a cheque to CAAT at the address below

With thanks from us all of us for your continuing support,

Emily and Charles
