Full Moon….
Full Moon – Orkney Monday 25th of March 2024

When did Easter come to be about chocolate? Eggs – yes – new life – chocolate?

This morning some of our clocks changed time themselves - some we had to change it for them...
Marking Time
When sitting at my desk
I have two ways of telling the time.
I have a clock
And my computer screen.
The clock is fast
The computer is slow.
This teaches me
The futility of clock-watching.

In The Garden…
Last day of March…Hare….
Seed-head?.....

A Hoot – or Two!....
Much as I dislike the use of Artificial Intelligence – non-human interpretation of accents can provide some laughs.
When visiting Orkney, whatever you do, don’t miss the broth of Percy (aka the Brough of Birsay)….

My comment was…
“When VisitScotland tourist information is only available on-line - will visitors be advised to visit the broth of Percy? And will Percy be warned about their visit? AI + on-line info = CONFUSION!”
I’m referring to this….

And then, there was another one….

And my comment was…
“Dr. John 'Ree' would 'roll over to Strummness.' Presumably after he'd had a Highland Park or two! A compilation of these faulty sub-titles would brighten the gloomiest day!”
This strikes a chord with me. I have a Yorkshire accent, and the number of times I have to ‘talk posh’ to get a word recognized on automated telephone do-da’s. In Yorkshire I say ‘Wun’ - the goddam machine makes me turn into someone I’m not and say ‘Wan’.
