Protest 12 March 2024, 6pm Home Office: No to Security and Policing Arms Fair! (CAAT, Netpol)

Join Network for Police Monitoring (Netpol) and Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) at the Home Office in London at 6pm on 12 March 2024. We will be saying No to the Security and Policing arms fair! No to repressive policing! Yes to refugees and migrants! Solidarity with Gaza!

Each year the Home Office brings together cops, spies, border guards, arms companies and delegations from other countries, many with poor human rights records, for its Security and Policing arms fair  This year participants will include Israeli arms company Elbit Systems, BAE Systems and L3 Harris, all of whom are deeply complicit in the ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel.

More information from the CAAT Events page.

Vigil 26th March 2024 6:00 pm: Yemen Ninth Anniversary Vigil  planned at Downing Street (London CAAT)

March 26th marks nine years since the Saudi-led coalition started their brutal assault on Yemen. In that time, thousands of Yemeni civilians have been killed by Saudi bombs. The UN estimates that 377,000 war related deaths occurred by the end of 2021. In total the UK has supplied at least £28 billion worth of arms to the Saudi-led coalition attacking Yemen.

Join London CAAT as they stand in solidarity with the people of Yemen outside Downing Street.

More info via the CAAT Events page.

Action report 6th March 2024: Bristol Arms Fair Blockaded for Two days

On 5th and 6th March 2024, campaigners blockaded access to the Bristol arms fair. The Future Indirect Fires and Joint Military Training & Simulation Stream conferences are  taking place at the Ashton Gate stadium in Bristol. Companies attending the conference include Elbit Systems and BAE Systems who are complicit in the genocide Israel is perpetrating against Palestinian people in Gaza. The protest was called by PSC Bristol and Stop the War, and supported by a wide range of local groups.

CAAT’s Emily Apple who was there says, “This week people showed clearly that they will not stand by and let arms dealers meet in Bristol, and they will not be complicit in genocide.”
