“So far, this has been an exciting winter. It's the time of year when it is easiest to visit artists and make plans and most of our artists are more determined than ever – full of grit, determination and resolve. 'Art is not the cherry on the cake. It is the cake,' Melvyn Bragg said in the House of Lords this week and he is correct.
Our key exhibition until March is 'Borrowed Land,' which showcases over twenty artists inspired by land, sea and sky. Some incredible works are included in this show, from Robert McAulay's Nature's Sigh, Allan MacDonald's Undercurrents, Eskadale, Lotte Glob's lava pools and much more.
We have also just received three fresh paintings by Maggie New.
Opening days throughout the winter are Thursday - Saturdays.

Shetland
We are just back from visiting artists in Shetland - Paul Bloomer, Peter Davis, Janette Kerr and Gail Harvey.
Shetland is one of the most scenic places in the world. Every direction contains a beauty worth capturing in paint but, ironically, it is what lies beyond the scenic that is most profound and in need of painting, and this is what engages these artists the most. We look forward to having more work from them in 2024.
