Sign of The Times…..
On someone’s Facebook page I saw a picture, taken recently, of supermarket shelves stocked with Easter eggs.
We humans need structure in our lives. We acknowledge important times in the year – the approach of Winter, the return of the light in Mid-winter, the arrival of Spring, Harvest time. Losing track of the timing and significance of these, we lose something of the structure of our lives.
In these times, many folk are troubled, worried, feeling lost and wondering where their lives and the life of the planet are going. We need structure – we need to mark times in the year and in our lives – hatchings, matchings and dispatchings. Without these markers I believe that the collective psyche of humanity will go even further astray than it is doing.
Whatever names you put on them, mark the times that matter at the time when they occur. Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Harvest home – wedding, christening, funeral - whatever those events and times are called in your culture - mark them when they’re to be marked….
