In the Garden….

Mike set himself a challenge for this year – to take at least one photo every day of something in, or an aspect of, our garden.  I here present my favourites so far….

I do like fungi…

It’s not just the cute critters that matter – the rain brought out the slugs….

Silhouetted…..

Rookie – who was tapping his beak on the bird table because we were tardy in putting the food out - he has me well trained...

Plus….

For a long time, people ate anything that was edible – needs must.  So it’s very likely that seaweed was included in the diet of communities in the distant past, as well as more recently.  The difference here is ….proof!

I remember eating dried Dulce with my Dad when visiting family in Ireland when I was young - we were the only members of the family who would eat it!

The Welsh have their Laver Bread…..

A good memory of Dulce on the menu at a Science Festival ‘do’….

Sighthill Stone Circle….

Winter Solstice 2023…

And I quote Kenny Brophy….

“Seconds of relief that an entirely predictable event that could not fail to happen was now happening. Giving over quickly to emotion, joy, awe, magic, an overwhelming sense that this was truly special and that this was a perfect moment in the perfect place to experience this moment. A moment that all three of us were able to record although this was not a time for staring at screens or through viewfinders any more than necessary.”

The culmination of many year’s work….
