Wearing Woollies…
The other BB (Bartholomew Barker) challenged me to write a poem about wearing winter wooolies, so I did. It’s kind-of a haiku…..
Synthetics suck –
Just make me sweat.
You can’t beat wool -
For warmth.

“Made in Orkney is the mantra for talented textile designers."
A desire to take charge of their own destiny has led to the launch of a brand-new island knitwear factory for Orkney textile design studio, Hilary Grant. Hilary and her partner Robbie Harvey have steadily grown their business over the last decade, but challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic led to a rethink about the future. Now, after applications, investments, renovations, and a great deal of hard work, their latest collection – including pom hats, scarves, bed throws and blankets, is proudly made right here in Orkney.
