Fireworks……

Yesterday evening at 6 o’clock Mike and I sat down together to listen/watch/connect with Matthew Manning’s Global Healing event….

…which is described as being ’an immersive experience‘ – and they are – we’ve ‘tuned in’ to previous events.

We were deep into the guided meditation and, just as Matthew started to say to breath out the worries, hurt etc - the bangs started.  Fireworks, about 10/15 minutes of loud, explosive fireworks.  We looked at each other - knew that we couldn’t continue to take part, and turned off the computer.

Thank goodness, Matthew keeps this on-line for 24 hours to accommodate time zones, but there are other things which can disrupt what needs to be a peaceful time.

As far as we got - it was exactly what I need at the moment.  This afternoon - we'll try again.

I’m agin’ fireworks as they frighten animals & people. I know that two of our neighbour’s dogs are terrified by fireworks – how did they react?

A bit of thought and consideration goes a long way.

The Tomb Near Holm….

These days, lack of energy means that we don’t go out in the evening.  We’ve learnt to accept this as how things are and, mostly, don’t mind too much - but sometimes I am sorry to miss something – and this talk by Hugo Anderson-Whymark was one of those things…

Thanks to OAS for filming and posting it.

This site provides another link in the network of settlements in South Ronaldsay, and Orkney, in the Neolithic.  Pieces of the puzzle, fitting together to make a more complete picture.

It really is the case that scratch the surface, just about anywhere in Orkney, and you’ll find archaeology or history.

I remember when the new car park for the Ring of Brodgar was planned, and initial excavation turned up a bit of Neolithic wall so - they had to move the car park over a bit!  It’s as though it’s all just there, waiting to rise from the earth.

Meanwhile, the archaeologists keep on looking, and finding, and telling us of what they find.

A nice juxtaposition of old and new caught by George Current.
