The Camera Never Lies?.....

There are ads. on the telly for a ‘phone/camera which uses Artificial Intelligence to alter the images to show what is desired, rather than what was so.  What happened to ‘the camera never lies’?

Reality and unreality are becoming more and more blurred.  No wonder people are feeling lost and confused.

People aren’t smiling?  Make them smile.

Mike tells me that AI can be used to identify what has been written by AI, which reminded me of this….

http://www.spanglefish.com/berniesblog/blog.asp?blogid=16526

I was thinking of when photographs are/were used as evidence in criminal investigations - what happens now, when images can be so easily altered?

What if, as AI can be used to identify text and images which have been produced or altered by AI,  AI learns to be more clever about what it produces and alters, so that it’s harder to identify?  EEEEKKKK!

George Orwell, Isaac Asimov, I bow to you - again.

PS

Friend Howie emailed to say….

“It's good that you're highlighting this, and indeed it looks like being a bizarre situation, with one lot of AI writing essays and another lot of AI detecting this and then the first lot of AI finding a way to evade the detecting, and so on. I think that AI is also being used by some people to write CVs, and so a similar situation could develop, until eventually to save time someone simply puts the two AIs in touch with each other so they can decide the outcome.”

‘Nuff said….

From Change.org….

“Request for help from Joanna Lumley's Stop Sea Blasts Campaign team

Please will you help Joanna and ourselves by checking out https://www.express.co.uk/celebrity-news/1836142/Joanna-Lumley-unexploded-war-bombs-ocean  and, if you can: - Sharing the article on social media  - Leaving a supportive note in the comments section of the article

Why?  Because two years ago the UK Government listened to our campaign and took action to stop sea blasts.  Policy was changed to ‘prioritise’ quiet, low order techniques which avoid damaging detonations at sea with a promise that the use of these more environmentally friendly techniques would soon not just be ‘prioritised’, but made mandatory.  But it is taking ages to get that final ‘mandatory’ step.

As the article explains, our campaign sponsor and supporter EODEX LTD has just completed a landmark operation in Scotland, where over 80 bombs and mines were made safe using environmentally friendly methods. Absolutely zero detonations took place, marine life was unharmed, and the operation was even quieter than first expected. We believe this is the first time an operation like this has been conducted on such a scale.  Based on this fantastic result we’re making one last push to get the Government to take the final step and make environmentally friendly clearance mandatory.  Helping give this article more oxygen of publicity as we ask above will really help us.

This brilliant progress is all thanks to your support and from Joanna and the team, we are truly thankful.

Best wishes,

Stop Sea Blasts”
