Fraiku: By the Light of the Moon
As roses sprout thorns
the suave stranger smiles
and her neck blooms crimson

The subject of Vampires prompted the following exchange between me & Bartholomew….
Me… “Oh yes! ‘Suave stranger’ – on so many levels this is …wicked.
I’ve always felt some sympathy for Nosferatu/Dracula – imagine it …
https://theorkneynews.scot/2020/12/30/im-beginning-to-feel-like-dracula/ “
Bart….. “ It’s interesting how vampires have gone from monsters to anti-heroes to good old fashioned heroes sometimes.”
Me…..”I’d draw a line at ‘hero’ – what they do is far from being a good thing.
A hero vampire would be one who chose to try not to give in to their impulse – as in the television series ‘Being Human’ – where the vampire does just that…..

Aiden Turner – sigh sigh and another sigh….”
Then Bart. made a very pertinent point....click on the link to his blog to see....

The Ness of Brodgar 2024….
https://www.nessofbrodgar.co.uk/2024-excavation-end/
To the tune of ‘People Get Ready’ by ‘The Impressions’…
People get ready
The last dig’s a-comin’
No more diggers needed
Places all filled
All they need is time
And some real fine weather
A bit of cloud cover
But not so’s folk get too chilled
Main thing is funding
That sure is needed
Needed for next year
And goin’ ahead
Post excavation’s
As important as diggin’
So come on supporters
Hand over the bread!
BB October 2023
FYI young persons – ‘bread’ used to be a hip way of referring to money.
