It’s the Holy Stone of Brodrichert – ‘Father Ted’ reference….

Joking aside – I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Sigurd Towrie for the Daily Dig Diary.  I don’t know how he does it – he works all day on site then puts together a very ‘readable’ dig diary of what’s happened that day – including ace photographs.

Excavations at The Ness are based on team-work – and they have a dem’ fine team!

Fraiku: That Song’ ……

That Song

Drops me through a trapdoor
onto a musty pile of memories—
all that's left of you

All I can say is…Yup!

And they're not always romantic memories....

An old friend of my parents had died – someone I’d known all my life – a man of mischief and good humour.

I was doing some ironing, listening to a ‘Chieftains’ C.D.  They started to sing ‘Carrickfergus’.  I had to put the iron down - sat down - and cried my eyes out.

It was exactly the ‘trap-door’ effect described by Bartholomew.

Writing this brings our old friend to mind again – which is a good thing

Today’s Thought….

…from Matthew Manning….

“Cherish every single day of your life, because if you don’t, who will?  Time flies so quickly and every day is a blessing. Don’t take it for granted. As you wake up every day, put your heart into every breath. Be grateful to be able to dream, love, and have fun.

When you’re worried about something in the future, think to yourself: is this helping me in any way? Is there anything that I can do right now? And if your answer is “no” to these questions, then the best thing you can do is let go of the worries and anxiety that keep overflowing into your mind by giving yourself permission to release these thoughts and fill your heart - with the calm of now.

Have a wonderful week ahead …. Matthew”
