Of Ravens…. Forgiveness….A Nice Round-up Of Swandro So Far - Plus…..

Of Ravens….

I saw this on Jackie Morris’ blog…  https://www.jackiemorris.co.uk/a-stepping-stone/. Jackie lives in Wales.

I’m reading ‘The Grey King’ - fourth in Susan Cooper’s  ‘The Dark Is Rising’ series - and have encountered the Raven Boy.  This sent me to our bookshelves  looking for ’The Raven’s Song’,  a slim volume of poetry by Nalini Paul, illustrated magically by C.A. Hiley.

In her ‘Notes’ to ‘The Raven’s Song’  Nalini writes…

“The poems in this collection are based mainly on stories of the Haida, an indigenous Canadian culture in northern British Columbia, which is said to be 17,000 years old.  Folklore from mainland Scotland, Orkney and Shetland also serve as inspiration.”

The weave, continues……

Forgiveness….

Bartholomew Barker ….https://bartbarkerpoet.com/  has written of forgiveness….

Forgiveness is not an occasional act,
it is a constant attitude.”
~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Our circle of friends
must be ever expanding
like a bouquet of balloons
a kaleidoscope of visions
views and voices tied
together with appreciation
acceptance and the common goal
of peace

So that we all rise together

Which sent me to a piece I wrote some time ago……  https://theorkneynews.scot/2019/10/31/forgiveness/

It gets harder, but more needed, in the times we’re living through.
