To me, Beyonce playing Dubai equates with performers such as Shirley Bassey playing Sun City during the apartheid regime. In both instances, the performers left behind all thought of our shared humanity and added some wrong-doing to the world.
The world is being weighed down by wrong-doing.
Whether famous or not, each person needs to try to take personal responsibility for their actions – as did the ‘Artists United Against Apartheid’….

The Cairns – Beginnings?....

“Origin house? Ancestral to The Cairns... Around 600BC, about 500 years prior to our currently earliest dated activity at The Cairns itself, this set of underground passages ( AKA: a souterrain) was constructed at Windwick near the shoreline below The Cairns. Our excavations also revealed the partial remains of a contemporary house directly on top of the souterrain. The small settlement at Windwick was occupied until around 300BC and may have been one of several Early Iron Age households dotted around the low-lying zone of the landscape. It's possible that these households ultimately expanded and coalesced, eventually establishing the much larger settlement uphill at The Cairns, with the monumental broch at its centre.”

On the 22nd of June last year, I was called after a mass fish death occurred on Cunsey Beck. I have never witnessed anything like that in my life and ever since being on the ground that day, the whole situation has not sat right with me. Today, I am releasing a new film which is from eyewitnesses of the event. The question is simple; if United Utilities has nothing to hide surrounding what was coming from their wastewater treatment works on that day, then why are they refusing to give me and others data? The film is eight minutes long. After you have watched it, please decide for yourself as to what you think happened to those fish on the 21st of June. If, like me, you want to see the evidence that is currently being withheld from us, then please copy and paste the below email, sign it and then send it to United Utilities’ CEO, Steve Mogford. The use of the hashtag #UUShowUsThePoo will help bring further public awareness to the situation and ensure that more voices are added to help get justice for the fish that were killed on the Cunsey.
Dear Steve Mogford,
I am asking for your help.
An incident occurred, on the 21st of June 2022, in close proximity to one of your wastewater treatment works in Near Sawrey. The incident resulted in a mass fish kill.
The Save Windermere campaign and Windrush Against Sewage Pollution (WASP) have individually requested data from United Utilities, for this works, to better understand what was being discharged from the works on the days leading up to and after the incident. United Utilities have refused to disclose this information, citing an exception that is not acceptable particularly under the given circumstances.
I am asking, that as CEO of United Utilities, you authorise the release of this information (specified at the bottom of the letter) and request that it is emailed to info@windrushwasp.org.
I want to see United Utilities being more transparent. This action would be a big step towards achieving that.
Please ensure United Utilities have sent this information to WASP by the 1st of February 2023.
