A Different Kind Of Remember Remember….
I appreciate that what Cold War Steve produces is good - very good – on the nail. I don’t usually scrutinize his images for long as….it would get me down – even more down at a time when I’m trying not to…get down.
But – this one is THE BUSINESS – a timely reminder of what is said to have happened all those centuries ago to a family fleeing from persecution – and what Christmas is supposed to be about……

Eve’s Broch Re-visited….
We went for a walk to Eve’s Broch again….

I love this bay - it’s haunted - in a good way. I get a feeling of lives being lived there. There’s been a lot going on there, for a long time.
I‘m sorry to say that the little bench I mentioned in the first piece I wrote about this bay is now just a heap o’ wood – it looks like a big storm must have hit it. Things change.
What doesn’t change is that the beach there is a treasure trove of bits of glass and ceramic - for them as likes that sorta thing. We got a good haul….
And - another piece of a pleasing seaweed, on another pleasing stone…
A good outing on a blowy day – even though it’s Neolithic November not Brochtober!

Speaking of Neolithic November –
I received the most recent Newsletter (no. 31) from the Ness of Brodgar Team. There is so much there - a very solid resumé of not only this year’s dig, but stretching out with links to finds and work at the Ness in previous years. If you’d like to see for yourself….. https://www.nessofbrodgar.co.uk/newsletter/. You’ll need to wait until it’s added to the ‘archive’ list – which is also worth perusing!
One thing I’ll point out as it might help fundraising - which is vital to the work at the Ness - Christmas cards! The Watchstone in the snow – Oh my!

There are also Ring of Brodgar sunset cards by Site Director at the Ness – Nick Card….

Did you spot the bunny?

If….
If fireworks weren’t available….they couldn’t be thrown at the Emergency Services…..
