Fraiku: Return
I am a river in drought
smooth stones naked in the sun
until your rain

Apropos the above Tweet….nothing to do with drought - but do my readers remember Fergal Sharkey in ‘The Undertones’? ‘Teenage Kicks’…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PinCg7IGqHg
And then solo with ‘A good heart these days is hard to find’…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx9qUR9P2ZQ
To paraphrase Shakespeare…’Age cannot wither him nor custom stale his infinite variety’.

Set-aside…..
Set-aside on a farm is A GOOD THING. Each year a nearby famer sets aside two fields and at this time of year they are a joy to see. I’ve written of these fields before….. https://theorkneynews.scot/2022/01/22/phacelia-tigerlilia-terriblis/ and the day being sunny, we took a walk to admire the colours and shapes of this year’s flowers.....
Vivid red clover…
Borage & Polygonum…
Green-veined White butterfly on Phacelia…
Phacelia – spiralling…
Main set-aside field - the blue of Borage by the deep red of Docken seed heads…
Mixed crucifers……
Across the track from the set-aside…a lone white thistle…
The cairn on the skerry by the island with a cairn…

What a place to live!
