Saturday September 3rd saw the start of the North & Mid Herts League with our adult team playing their first ever match together. The fixtures had been particularly unkind setting us against St Ippolyts who featured 8 of last season's league and cup winning Probuild team.

Although most of the game was played in our half we defended resolutely and reached half-time with the scores still level at 0 - 0. Eventually St Ippolyts did manage to take the lead with a header from a corner that Jamie Dawe came close from keeping out. We started to create a few more attacking chances, with Kris Kalaiarasu hitting our best shot just over the bar from outside the box.

The final whistle saw us run out 1 - 0 losers but this had been an excellent performance against a team who will be in contention for the title at the end of the season, particularly considering 7 of our starting 11 were only 17. Another tough fixture awaits us this Saturday away at Potters Bar Crusaders who are one of the other main contenders for the title, thereafter the fixtures fall a little more kindly.
