05/06/17              Draft letter and statement to accompany the Designated Area Application distributed to Steering Group members for comment and approval.

09/06/17              Approved letter and Statement together with a map delineating the proposed Designated Neighbourhood Planning Area submitted to HBBC for official designation.

06/07/17               At our second monthly meeting additional representatives for Bagworth & Thornton were appointed to the Steering Group and a few members were recruited for the Focus Groups.

10/07/17              Before our designation can be ratified, HBBC Planning Dept. have requested that we revert to the original Steering Group name of Bagworth, Thornton & Stanton-under-Bardon NP Steering Group. Apparently, 'Minerals and Water' is too close to ' Minerals & Waste' which obviously has implications for the planning authorities. This requirement will cause much additional work e.g. Change of name for this website and for our bank account as well as our terms of reference and similar documentation. We are also required to provide evidence of which Parish Council will be regarded as the 'Lead' Council for documentation submission purposes.

17/07/17                 Above amendments have been made and requirements satisfied. Our application for area designation has been re-submitted by our Chairman today.

24/07/17                    Bagworth, Thornton and Stanton-under-Bardon now apppears on the HBBC Planning Dept. website as a 'Proposed area' for consultation purposes.

08/08/17                    Area Designation Application now Live on HBBC web site.  See NEWS tab for further details.

18/09/17                    Public consultation regarding our Area Designation application closed at 1630 today. Decision from HBBC awaited.

23/10/17   Confirmation received that our application for designation of the parishes of Bagworth, Thornton and Stanton-under-Bardon has been accepted and the designation has now been officially confirmed. See Links page for link to appropriate page on HBBC website.

04/12/17  Drop-In Events at each parish have now been completed. The information gained from the members of the public who attended will be included in a report by RCC to the Parish Councils and will ultimately be used to inform the Neighbourhood Plan.

02/04/18  The Stakeholder meeting for representatives of businesses, churches, clubs, sports clubs and similar organisations will take place on Thursday 12th April at Stanton-under-Bardon village hall commencing at 1800 and terminating at 2000. Please attend and represent your organisation and give us your views and opinions regarding the development of our designated area over the next two decades.

05/06/18 The issues and suggestions raised by visitors to the Drop-In and Stakeholder events have now been collated into a Grid by RCC.

Three Focus Groups have been created each analysing the data on the Grid in respect of the village the Focus Group represents.
