Johnny, a living legend, is a past Wilson Cup Winner and two time Orkney Major winner having won the Kirkwall Open in 1992 and the Stromness Open, cheered on by 'The Management' , in 1994.

Never short on confidence, Johnny surprised 'The Management' in 2007 when he became the first person in the history of the ABC to walk off the course and submit a No Return reigniting the old bar room discussion of whether or not Johnny is in fact a fair weather player!! After deserting his playing partners after only three holes, Johnny quickly realised the error of his ways and went some way to making amends by cooking the pie and beans for everyone on their return to the club.

Johnny pictured right looking resplendent in red and proudly wearing the big dummy that was presented to him by 'The Management' for walking off the course after only three holes in 2007. Although well past his prime, Johnny went on to record one of the finest moments of his golfing career after that photo was taken when he rolled back the years and shot a fine 72 gross to win the gross section at the ABCIV. . . . well done Johnny!
