In 2009 Mansey added his name to the illustrious list of Purple Helmet winners with a superb Nett 59 to give him an outstanding victory by four clear shots.

Realising his potential for the game he then joined the fine body of men that play the Bilco Winter League before joining the ranks of the 'serious' medal playing golfers. Having reduced his handicap from his 2009 ABC winning 45 down to 22 his odds of winning the ABC again have been greatly reduced!!

One of Mansey’s favourite pastimes is shopping for golf equipment on ebay and he can often be seen striding briskly along the fairways of the Orkney Golf Club proudly pulling his brand new trolley and thumping balls up the fairways with his new Taylor Made clubs.

He is also an avid trainer and, when he isn’t combing the beaches of Orkney for wilks, he can often be spotted pounding the roads of Orkney, Forrest Gump style, in his quest for fitness.
