'Danger' Mick Swanney
A latecomer to the ABC due to his sailing commitments, Mick saw the light in 2007 and played for the first time. He wasted no time in getting on the prize list when he finished runner-up to Ram Jam for the Purple Helmet with a nett 67 playing off a 68 handicap. He was also a member of the winning team that year. Mick's 'success' continued in both 2008 and 2009 when he won a free round at the Orkney Golf Club for having one of the four highest gross scores of the day on both occasions.
Since his first appearance Mick has become a valuable contributer as far as sourcing prizes goes and has also been a major player in the fundraising efforts.
It was this effort that saw Mick being awarded with an Honorary Membership onto the ABC Committee prior to the start of the 2009 ABC
Mick, pictured right, is all dolled up for the Orkney Rangers Supporters Club Annual Dinner Dance.
