Anything goes . . . well almost!!Add a comment/topic to the blog and we'll add it to the page.Remember it's just for fun!!Prizesby The Management - 15:56 on 26 September 2009We've been very fortunate over the last few years that we have been drowned in generosity from folk as far as prizes go. We have tried to distribute these as fairly as possible, but with the amount of stuff we get it isn't easy. It's quite clear that going by the amount of prizes that are lying about at the end of the night and the next morning that, with the exception of one or two, very few folk are bothered about winning prizes at all. To deliver the stuff that was left over actually took several hours so should we prune the prize list down a bit? For example should we do away with the special prizes or even the runners-up prizes? What do you think? Comment from Ramjam at 14:48 on 25 October 2009. Re the " do Rons" earlier comment about having to take more drink on the Sunday apres the ABC Tournament due to delivering the raffle prizes and trophies the day after as nobody has the descency to stay sober on the Saturday night and take their winnings home with them as they enjoy and partake in the day's celebrations. I thought that they would have been glad of an excuse to get out of the house on the Sunday and "deliver" the said articles and catch up on the preceding day's chat? Or am I smelling "shite"??!! Comment from Bruce at 14:51 on 25 October 2009. The problem with delivering the prizes is that someone has to drive!!Add your comment Please note that whenever you submit something which may be publicly shown on a website you should take care not to make any statements which could be considered defamatory to any person or organisation. | ![]() |

As I have only played in this prestigeous event once, I can only comment on this years proceedings. I feel folk (especially those making their debut) want to make a contribution to the event as a mark of appreciation for the invitation, the easiest way is through donation of a prize. It may be a good idea to limit the prizes you present to a small handful of categories i.e Winner, nearest pin, worst placed. If people want to give a contribution to the event they could do it through a cash donation to the appointed charity.
Just a thought.
Cheers
