The History of the Hall
Phillip Webb
The Hall was designed by prestigious architect Phillip Webb, partner of William Morris, co-founder of the Arts & Crafts Movement, and founder of the Society for the Protections of Ancient Buildings. It is belkeived to be the only building in Scotland which remains just as he built it.
The careful renovation in 2000 was with the aid of a Millennium Lottery Grant, with assistance from SCVO, Historic Scotland, The Scottish Executive, The Highland Council, Lochaber Enterprise, The Crofters Commission, Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage, and especially the people of Arisaig who raised £47,000.
