Words from Founding APU Chairman - (1986-1997)
Elder M Clarke
When Pastor Jonathan Swaby contacted me a while back with the idea of a "reunion" the prospect was exciting and seemed overdue. It was never requested of me, thankfully, to lead - I am a firm believer that our Lord chooses the right people at the right time to lead the right idea that gives Him glory and honour. I salute Pastor Jonathan and his team for excellent leadership, teamwork, and creativity in bringing the idea to the point of fulfilment in just two weeks time.
The APU Mass Choir was such a tremendous feature of the Apostolic Power Unlimited celebrations and to many it WAS APU epitomising in truth "how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity". And so years later it is not surprising that God has chosen the APU Mass Choir to lead the reunion.
A reunion is the act of reuniting, the choir is doing just that... reuniting.
A reunion is a gathering of members of a group who have been separated, the choir is bringing the 'separated' back into a great gathering on September 8th.
I know the reunion could not happen without hard work and sacrifice, just as the original annual APU Celebrations did not happen without hard work and sacrifice. I most definitely applaud the use of technology (facebook, dropbox, youtube, skype and this website etc) to complement the physical hard work.
It will be a great reunion celebration on September 8th, absolutely no doubt about that. I give honour to the APU Reunion Committee, to the APU Reunion Mass Choir directors, to the APU Reunion Mass Choir members, and because I know what it meant to the original founding APU Bishops who trusted me to form and lead Apostolic Power Unlimited back in 1986, I honour Bishops Anderson, Dallas, Dunn, Pitt, Roach, Rowe and White, they would rejoice to see on Sep 8th how their own unity and foresight has been continued 26 years later.
Jonathan, Nathan, Joe, Laurice, Steve, Oliver and ClauDieon (who has worked so effectively and efficiently as "Administrator") you have exemplified unity in your working together and in so competently leading and managing the process of bringing everyone back together one more time. "Honour to whom honour is due"
To God be all the Glory
