Program Gheamhraidh/Winter Programme

We have an exciting prgramme of events lined up for An t-Oisean, over the winter. All events are open to all ages and all are bi-lingual so o need to worry if you don't speak Gaelic. Dihaoine/Friday 29th October. Award winning playwright, actor and poet Angus Peter Campbell presents an entertaining  evening entitled " Nuair bu choille chno an fhairge ghlas-When the grey sea was a hazel-wood. he will read excerpts from his work and tell the stories behind them. The usual 'srupag' (a snack!) will follow!
 

Dihaoine/ 19th November. Gaelic teacher Iain MacIlleChiar will present a fascinating evening entitled " Ainmean aitaichean Siorrach Rois is Eile- Placenames of Rosshire and Other Places". Srupag as usual!

Dihaoine 21st January Please note change of date.  Writer Ruaraidh Maclean will present an enertaining and informative evening with the title "Sgitheadh Thar-dùthchail – an Spòrs as Fheàrr- Cross Country Ski-ing- The Best Sport!"    He will be showing a beautiful presentation of images of his cross country skiing expereinces both here in Scotland and in Scandinavia.       

Dihaoine/ 11th February 2011. Broadcaster Pat Macleod ( ex of Telefios Gaelic news programme) will present an interesting and entertaining insight into the world of Gaelic broadcasting. Including srupag of course!

Dihaoine - 11th March 2011. Celebrated folklorist and singer Margaret Bennett will present an evening of songs and stories- details to follow but book now- its sure to be a sellout!

 All events begin at 7pm
