Lumsden Burns Supper

We arrived in a blizzard! We played some of the tunes in the first half in a similar mode until we had settled performance nerves and I had caught up with myself and got the programme back on tracks (mea culpa! I have been to the opticians for a new set of reading glasses!). The singers were excellent....thanks to Moira Downie, Alan Taylor and Eoin Taylor who, as far as I was concerned, really carried the evening. Thanks also to all the fiddlers, our accordionist, Heather, and guitarist, Ellice, who not only turned out in such dreadful weather, but who had also battled the elements in the weeks leading up to the concert to make the practices. We all enjoyed the haggis, neeps and tatties followed by tipsy piper, and the general ambience of such a congenial evening, including Alan's excellent "Address to the Haggis" (glad you weren't waving a claymore about, Alan!). Thanks to Mrs Dingwall for the invitation to play and sing, and to all those behind the scenes involved in the organisation. We hope you enjoyed the evening and were pleased to help you raise money for the local community.
