The above records are obviously incomplete, there being 9 gaps in the present record.  According to Celtic,  Alec made 18 league appearances and scored 11 goals.  The 11 goals are accounted for but only 15 of the appearances.

SCOTTISH CUP

The omission of Alec Bennett from the team for the cup final was a contentious one.  The official reason was that Alec had flu.  However it was well known that the Celtic manager Willie Maley was concerned about Bennett's admiration for Rangers.

 EUROPEAN TOUR (Austria & Bohemia)

This was Celtic's first foreign tour, manager Willie Maley being anxious to spread Celtic's reputation to foreign lands.  It was not the first such tour (Queen's Park had done a similar one some six years earlier) but it was still viewed as very adventurous and forward looking at the time
