Health Protection Scotland * Scotland’s National Hand Hygiene campaign was launched in January 2007 and is being delivered by Health Protection Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Executive Health Department. This campaign is the first of its kind in the UK and its core aim is to improve hand hygiene and reduce avoidable illness. There are promotional materials to download, including a Children's Pack "Health promotion is an important issue and this includes raising awareness about hand washing to help reduce the spread of germs. Welcome to David Cooper's Magic Schoolbook Guide for Teachers and Parents * This site is far from complete, but there is more than enough in place to demonstrate the power of this system of computer-driven teaching. The main focus has been on literacy and numeracy to begin with, so I have made sure that the site delivers on that front. There is a complete set of interactive programs designed to teach the whole of primary school arithmetic without requiring any input from a teacher, although there is still plenty of scope for a teacher or parent to enhance the learning experience by observing, discussing the process, advising where necessary and giving lots of encouragement.
