A Hard Act To Follow
23 February 2012

Season 2011 will be a hard act to follow both on and off the pitch!

Perhaps most importantly the club finally managed to win North Division 3 after four years of near misses or could have beens.  This will see the club compete in North Division 2 for the first time since season 2005 when the team managed to win the league.  The new management team of Kenny MacLeod and Jamie Beaton are keen to make a good impression and prove that the club can survive at this higher level.

Off field it will be impossible to live up to the events of 2011.  Our own book, hosting a Sutherland Cup Final, a youth festival, a Tartan Day Parade, a fund-raising auction and ceilidh, and a Civic Reception were all significant events in their own right but ensured that the club's 150th was celebrated in some style.

And finally the club were honoured when First Minister, Alex Salmond agreed to become the club's Patron.  This honorary position will finally be filled after 150 years as the original constitution left a blank space against the position of Patron.  Hopefully the club will enjoy some success on the pitch so that our new Patron will be able to cheer us on.
