Despite a blast of wintery weather the shinty club were relieved that their opening home game of the 2011 season went ahead as planned at Balgownie against Lochbroom.

Before taking the field the team were grateful to Ritchie Whyte of Aberdein Considine Solicitors who presented new strips to team captain Kieran Roberts.  The team are delighted to once again feature Aberdein Considine as their main sponsors after a few years absence.  Aberdein Considine are of course sponsors of the Sutherland Cup and have been instrumental in helping the shinty team be awarded the 2011 Sutherland Cup Final.

For the record Aberdeen ran out comfortable 4-0 winners.
