A TALE OF CAR INSURANCE
Recently it was the time of year for me that we all dread time to renew the car insurance. I got my quote from my current insurer arranged through one of the national motoring organisations and was shocked to find the cost had risen by 52% to nearly £900. I phoned them up to check and was assured that this was the best price they could offer me. Checking around I found I could get cheaper and even a lot cheaper but it came at the expense of high excesses, reduced cover terms and high administration cost e.g. change details during the life of the policy. I then phoned IAM Surety and was pleasantly surprised by the quote I saved nearly £300 not only that the value of the excess was less and the administration fees were the lowest I had seen. I understandably took out my new policy with them which was easy to do. When I phoned my present insurer to cancel the renewal and explained why they went to recheck my quote. Suddenly they could find me a policy £150 cheaper than the original nearly £900. This was strange as two days ago they could not find anything cheaper. When I asked who the policy was with I was told to my amazement it was the same company that IAM Surety had arranged my cover with and they were still another £150 cheaper. It is really worth giving IAM Surety a call as for me the policy was what I wanted at an excellent price. While I was on the line to them they told me that they can also offer home insurance and again being an IAM member gives you a preferential rate. Guess who will get the first phone call when my house insurance comes up for renewal.
