John Anthony Grant Morris
Always known as Anthony, he was born on 28 December 1924 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, the eldest child of Rev. Arthur le Blanc Grant Morris (18 March 1899 – January 1981) and Alison Emily Vully de Candole (1903–2002).
During the Second World War, Alison took her three boys to the USA, but her husband Arthur remained in East Quantoxhead.
At the end of the War Alison returned to Britain, but her elder two boys - Anthony, then 21 and Michael, then 19 - decided to stay in the USA, where their descendants are now. Her youngest, Adrian, was 16, and returned to England with her.
