Memories of the Swansea Blitz
This date in 1941 was the first day of the 3 night blitz on Swansea
It was 78 years ago today that the Swansea Blitz started. For three consecutive nights German planes attacked the town (it became a city in July 1969) killing 230 people and injuring over 400.
On the first night of the '3 nights blitz', the air raid sirens sounded at 7.50 pm - the start of a raid that lasted for five hours.
